Massage Information
Here is a brief rundown of the different massage modalities that I offer. Most massages that I provide use techniques from most to provide the most customized massage for you and your issues.
Swedish massage: Light to medium pressures are used. A fluid and graceful massage with different techniques used to calm your senses and ease your mind. Great for overall stress reduction and insomnia.
Deep Tissue Massage: Medium to deep pressures are used. This type of massage helps to correct muscular adhesions, helps calm spasms, and helps with overall pain management. Great for repetitive stress and chronic pain issues.
Prenatal Massage: Massage that is customized to the needs of the expectant mother. Great for coping with the stress, fatigue, and physical changes that occur during pregnancy. Continue your treatments after the birth to help ease back into your postnatal body and life.
Trigger Point Therapy: Deep stripping and steady pressure is applied to release trigger points (adhesions that may or may not actively radiate pain). Gentle stretching is applied afterward. Great for individuals who suffer from chronic headaches, lower back pain, chronic or acute pain and repetitive stress injuries.
Hot stone massage: Massage that is performed while using warm stones. Can be used as a compliment to deep tissue work or as a relaxing addition to a swedish massage. Hot stones, when used in conjuntion with massage, have been found to help soften adhesive tissues, promote additional lymph drainage, and mobilize connective tissue. Hot stones are heated in water and are used to massage with or are used for specific placement.
Headache Relief Massage: Massage that is specifically done to aid in the relief of headaches. Whether you have one at the time of your appoinement or you frequently suffer from headaches, this would be a great treatment for you. Enjoy a 15 minute foot massage while the heat that is placed on your shoulders and upper back help to loosen your tight muscles. After 15 minutes, the heat will be removed and specific massage techniques will be used on the shoulder, back, neck, face, and scalp. The techniques used have been shown to reduce and alleviate headaches. This massage is effective and relaxing.
